I was unhappy with my makeup and skin care routine, so earlier this month I purchased a huge haul of products to try to shake things up. I’m breaking this haul up into 4 blog posts, 2 makeup and 2 skin care.

First up are lipsticks. Left to right, Anastasia Beverly Hills in Pure Hollywood, Anastasia Beverly Hills in Lovely, and Tarteist in Obessed. I bought these because I’d seen both brands on social media and just felt like giving them a try. All three of these liquid lipsticks are matte and long-wear. All three last throughout my entire workday, even after eating and drinking. (I did have some cake with some buttercream icing that the Tarteist did not survive, but that makes sense considering the high fat content.) They do tend to get dry and cracked, but I fix this problem with a little bit of chapstick. It doesn’t strip the color, it just rehydrates the product.

Left: ABH Lovely, Top Right: Tarteist Obsessed, Bottom Right: Pure Holywood

My favorite shade is the ABH Pure Holywood. Its a nude with a hint of pink so it doesn’t wash me out the way most nudes do. I like Lovely and Obsessed as well, but they don’t go with everything the way Pure Hollywood does.

I have very dark circles under my eyes, I bought some new concealer. I bought the Too Faced Born This Way concealer in Fair. I was a bit disappointed with this one, mainly because it makes my skin burn a bit when I put it on. I don’t have that problem with any other Too Faced products, so I’m not sure why I reacted to this one. I do have sensitive skin and I will sometimes react to one product in a brand, but be able to wear the rest of the brand with no problems. Since that one was a bust, I bought the Tarte Shape Tape in Light-Medium Honey. I’m pretty pleased with this one. My dark circles still show through, so I will be experimenting with color correcting and under-eye baking and will update you guys on my progress.

I’m aiming for a glowy, dewy summer look so when I saw this Nyx Honey Dew Me Up Primer, I knew it would be perfect. I has a silky texture and leaves your skin looking hydrated. If you’re oily, you will want to pair this with Benefit’s Pore Professional or something similar.

To further perfect my summer glowy look, I picked up this Nyx Dewey Finish Long Lasting Setting Spray. It certainly makes my skin look more dewey and I feel pretty locked in when I use it.

Tune in Wednesday when I cover my new bronzers, highlighters, and more!
